Move to a larger drive

A comprehensive answer on ServerFault.com for upgrading a harddrive http://serverfault.com/questions/47707/moving-to-a-larger-drive-in-linux/47724#47724

Mount a cifs share

I have a shared directory on my Mac which I wanted to access on my linux machine.

Create a mount point directory e.g. mkdir /media/temp
mount -t cifs -o username=username,password=password //host.domain/share /mountpoint

This doesn’t work on Redhat servers, instead do:

mount -t cifs -o username=username,password=password //ip address/share /mountpoint
